(RO) Madam President, competitiveness is not an option for the European Union.

Rolling back in this respect cannot be an option for the European Union.

The Moldovan people's choice of the European option is now also shown at a political level.

If we want Ukraine to choose the European option, we must state this clearly and we must give this our support.

What we need is a European appeal option against decisions taken by national competition authorities.

It has been my privilege to share with you today my observations and thoughts on Georgia's European choice.

Let us support Ukraine in its European choice.

The EU has repeatedly acknowledged Ukraine's European aspirations and welcomed Ukraine's European choice.

We must do our utmost to ensure that even with an Islamic government Turkey keeps the European option open and does not turn away from us.

To close, I should like once again to thank our Irish friends and to send them my warmest and heartiest congratulations on their clearly European choice.

These two levels are justified, firstly by the fact that unilateralism is not an option for the European Union, and this is something that we have known for a long time.

Despite the European aspirations aired during the orange revolution, Ukraine still has to make an unequivocal choice between the European option and the Russian one.

With regard to the future financing of the European Union, one option which cannot be considered is the possible renationalising of the common agricultural policy itself.

Let us, we who have grown up in peace, act in such a way that in the next century war will not be, as it so frequently has been in our past, a European option.

Therefore, we need - and this is my invitation to Parliament - to draw particular attention to the information campaigns which keep support for the European option in these countries at a high level.
