At SpanishDictionary (“we,” “our,” or “us”) we respect and protect the privacy of our customers and others who use our products and services. This Privacy Policy describes the ways in which SpanishDictionary collects, uses, and discloses information about you through our website, www.spanishdictionary.cc, and the SpanishDictionary mobile application (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services, you consent to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy, now and as amended by us.

Information We Collect

We may collect and store information about you when you use the Services.

  1. Account Information: We collect information that you choose to provide when you download or sign up for the Services.   3. Activity: We may store information when you access or use the Services, such as when you input search queries; when you navigate through the Services, when you click on a search result; and when you group together certain Activities into “Plans” to save for future reference or to share with friends. When you send communications or pictures using the SpanishDictionary chat functionality, we collect and store those communications and pictures, solely for the purpose of the chat feature. This information is only accessible to you and those whom you select to communicate with.

  4. Location and Device Permissions: When you use the Services we may collect information about your location. The Services may do this through permissions incorporated into your device, or based on your phone number. An example use of Location information is to present information of nearby businesses.
    The Services may collect other information from your device through permissions incorporated into the device. For example, if you wish to associate a profile picture with your account, you may allow the Services to access the camera or photos on your device for that purpose. You may modify these permissions at any time using the SpanishDictionary Settings screen or your device’s privacy and application settings.

  5. Social Media Logins: You can sign up for a SpanishDictionary account using certain other social media accounts, such as Facebook or Google. If you choose to do so, we will receive some information about you from that third-party social media platform. You may be able to control the information that we receive when you connect your social media accounts to the Services using the privacy settings associated with those social media accounts. We treat information received from third-party social media platforms as covered under this Privacy Policy.

How We Use Information

We may use the information we collect for a number of purposes, including:

  • Providing you with the Services

  • Improve the quality of the Services

  • Personalize your experience

  • Track usage of the Services

  • Market the Services

  • Provide customer support and message you

Except as set forth herein, we do not share your personal information with them, and are not responsible for their privacy practices.   • Referrals: If you choose to use our referral service to tell a friend about the Services, we will ask you for your friend's contact information. We will automatically send your friend a one-time message inviting him or her to use the Services. We retain this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time message and tracking the success of our referral program.

Users Outside the United States

The information we collect will be processed in and subject to the laws of the United States, which, if you are not located in the United States, may not provide the same level of protection for your personal information as your home country, and may be available to the United States government or its agencies under a lawful order made in the United States. By using the Services, you are consenting to such transfer to, and processing in, the United States.

Control Over Your Information

Access and Updates: If you are a registered user of the Services, you may access, correct, delete, or modify your profile information by accessing the Profile screen within the SpanishDictionary app. We may ask questions to verify your identity before accessing and updating certain information. While we work to accommodate all requests, we may reject a request to access and update information for a number of reasons, including where the request is repetitive or unlawful.

Sharing of Plans: Any Plan you create is initially private and visible only to you. However, once a Plan is shared with other contacts/friends that Plan will remain available to the shared contacts/friends.

Chats: You have the ability to block chats from users by removing them as a SpanishDictionary friend.

Security and Privacy: We want you to feel confident about using the Services, and we are committed to protecting the information we collect. While no service on the Internet and World Wide Web can guarantee absolute or unqualified protection of this information, we have implemented appropriate administrative, technical, and physical security procedures to help protect the personal information you provide to us.

Children

The Services are not intended for anyone under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. If you become aware that your child or any child under your care has provided us with information, please contact us at the contact information listed below.

Revisions to this Privacy Policy

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will let you know when we’ve done so by revising the date of the Privacy Policy that is available through the Services. If we make material changes in the way we use Personal Information, we will notify you prior to the effective date, by adding a statement to our website homepage and/or providing you with an in-app notification. Users are bound by any changes to the Privacy Policy when they use the Services after the effective date of such changes have been first posted.
